Where Warmth Blooms is part of Inherited Blooms — a deeply personal limited edition collection created in quiet collaboration with my late mother, an accomplished textile artist. The floral center of this piece was shaped and appliquéd entirely by her hand. I have completed each composition with layered fabric, beadwork, and crystal accents — her work and mine meeting in a shared space of memory, material, and meaning. Only 19 pieces remain in this collection.

A single magnificent sunflower fills the composition with generous, radiant warmth — its layered petals constructed from inherited fabric in golden yellow, warm amber, and soft cream, each one individually cut and placed by my mother's hand with the botanical precision and loving attention that defines every piece in this collection. The petals radiate outward in two distinct rings — an inner ring of deeper golden amber and an outer ring of softer yellow cream — creating a bloom of extraordinary dimensional depth that feels as though it is still in the act of opening. At the heart of the sunflower, a large brown and amber fabric disc printed with golden dots forms the richly textured face of the bloom — and at its center, a dense cluster of iridescent glass pebbles and crystals of varying sizes covers the surface in a shifting, luminous mosaic that catches and scatters light with every change of viewing angle, like a handful of morning dew and starlight held perfectly still. Two generous sage and forest green batik fabric leaves extend from the stem — their edges traced with Czech glass beads in deep forest green laid in a precise herringbone pattern that gives each leaf a dimensional, woven quality of extraordinary craftsmanship. The inner background is a warm cream linen fabric printed with delicate white botanical tree and fern forms — ghostly, ethereal, and deeply beautiful, giving the composition a sense of depth and quiet natural mystery. The outer border is a warm golden amber batik fabric alive with a soft dot pattern — rich, warm, and deeply complementary to the sunflower it frames, wrapping the entire piece in a unified glow of golden warmth that feels like late summer sunlight held still.

There is a sense of presence here — of something tended, remembered, and carried forward. A piece that feels both grounded and radiant. Presented in a light white wash floating frame, ready to hang.
