Where Stillness Settles is part of Inherited Blooms — a deeply personal limited edition collection created in quiet collaboration with my late mother, an accomplished textile artist. The floral center of this piece was shaped and appliquéd entirely by her hand. I have completed each composition with layered fabric, beadwork, and crystal accents — her work and mine meeting in a shared space of memory, material, and meaning. Only 19 pieces remain in this collection.

Two soft blue morning glory blooms lean gently toward one another in a moment of quiet, companionable stillness — their generous rounded petals constructed from inherited periwinkle blue and cornflower fabric in two distinct tones, each one distinct yet perfectly harmonious, creating a composition that feels both balanced and gently in motion. The blooms are rendered with extraordinary botanical accuracy — the characteristic trumpet form of the morning glory perfectly captured in fabric, each petal fold and shadow line emerging from the layered textile with a naturalistic precision that speaks of a deep and genuine love for the natural world. Within each bloom, iridescent teardrop-shaped crystals radiate outward from the center in a precise starburst — catching and scattering light with a delicate, prismatic brilliance that mimics the natural luminosity of the morning glory's interior at first light. At the stem junctions where blooms meet stalk, clusters of deep forest green Czech glass beads gather with an organic, botanical precision — adding a dimensional richness and a warm, jewel-like counterpoint to the cool blue blooms above. A small sky blue fabric petal detail at the right adds a tender, unfinished quality — like a bloom still deciding whether to open. Dark forest green and deep olive batik fabric leaves fan outward from the curving sage green stem with grounded, rich botanical presence. The inner background is the warm cream and gold swirl pattern fabric that appears in several Inherited Blooms pieces — soft, organic, and deeply restful. The outer border is a stunning blue and green scrollwork fabric — rich, classical, and deeply complementary to the periwinkle blue blooms within, giving the entire piece a presence that feels both refined and deeply personal.
