Where Love Rests is part of Inherited Blooms — a deeply personal limited edition collection created in quiet collaboration with my late mother, an accomplished textile artist. The floral center of this piece was shaped and appliquéd entirely by her hand. I have completed each composition with layered fabric, beadwork, and meaningful embellishment — her work and mine meeting in a shared space of memory, material, and meaning. Only 19 pieces remain in this collection.

A single deep crimson bloom unfolds at the center of the composition with the quiet, velvety confidence of a flower that has always known its own significance — its generous petals constructed from inherited deep red fabric, rich and warm, opening outward with a natural ease that feels both timeless and deeply personal. At the very heart of the bloom, a small vintage gold charm in the shape of a heart rests with quiet permanence — inscribed with the word love in raised lettering, anchoring the entire piece in a meaning that needs no further explanation. Czech glass beads radiate outward from the heart in deep black, forming a precise starburst of beadwork that frames the charm like a crown and draws the eye inward with quiet insistence. Dark forest green and black fabric leaves fan outward from the stem with bold, grounding presence — their surfaces traced with Czech glass beads in deep teal and gold that follow the natural veining of each leaf with a botanical precision that rewards the closest and most careful looking. A bright green fabric stem connects bloom to leaves with simple, living grace. The inner background is a soft beige and white sheer check fabric — quiet and airy, allowing the deep crimson bloom to command the composition without competition. The outer border is a dramatic deep burgundy and black batik fabric — rich, dark, and deeply complementary to the crimson bloom, giving the piece an overall presence that feels both intimate and quietly powerful.

There is a tenderness here that feels both personal and universal — a reminder that love, once given, continues to live on in quiet, lasting ways.
