Where Light Softens is part of Inherited Blooms — a deeply personal limited edition collection created in quiet collaboration with my late mother, an accomplished textile artist. The floral center of this piece was shaped and appliquéd entirely by her hand. I have completed each composition with layered fabric and crystal accents — her work and mine meeting in a shared space of memory, material, and meaning. Only 19 pieces remain in this collection.

A single blush bloom opens softly at the center of the composition — its six rounded petals constructed from inherited fabric in the most tender, muted mauve pink, so quiet in tone that the flower seems to exhale rather than announce itself. Each petal is distinct yet perfectly harmonious, radiating outward with the unhurried grace of a flower that has always known how to be still. At the heart of the bloom, an extraordinary faceted crystal embellishment catches and holds the light with quiet brilliance — a large central crystal surrounded by a starburst of iridescent crystal points that shimmer and shift with every angle of viewing, like light filtering through water or memory surfacing softly. Teal, green, and yellow fabric stems rise lightly on either side, offering balance and botanical grounding without weight or urgency. The inner background is a soft natural linen fabric printed with delicate dragonfly forms that drift quietly across the surface — barely there, like a breath held gently. The outer border is a soft pink liberty-style floral fabric alive with tiny blooms in pink, white, yellow, and blue — warm, sweet, and deeply complementary to the blush bloom it frames.

There is a softness here that feels reflective — like light filtering through a memory — inviting a sense of peace, calm, and quiet presence.
