Where Light Rests is part of Inherited Blooms — a deeply personal limited edition collection created in quiet collaboration with my late mother, an accomplished textile artist. The floral center of this piece was shaped and appliquéd entirely by her hand. I have completed each composition with layered fabric, beadwork, and crystal accents — her work and mine meeting in a shared space of memory, material, and meaning. Only 19 pieces remain in this collection.

Two golden bell-shaped blooms bow gently from curving sage green stems with the quiet, nodding grace of snowdrops or fritillaries — their forms constructed from inherited fabric in warm amber gold and soft peachy yellow, each one distinct in tone yet perfectly harmonious together. Each bloom is outlined in a precise trail of iridescent crystals that trace the full contour of every petal with extraordinary delicacy — a continuous arc of shimmer that catches and scatters light with every shift of viewing angle, like morning dew settled along the edge of a petal and held there. At the crown of each bloom, amber and yellow Czech glass beads radiate outward in a small, precise starburst of golden warmth — mimicking the natural stamen detail of the flower with a botanical accuracy that feels both reverent and deeply personal. Dark forest green and teal batik fabric leaves and stems rise and curve through the composition with grounded, organic authority — their rich, deeply textured surfaces providing a beautiful counterpoint to the soft golden blooms they hold. The inner background is a warm cream and tan botanical print fabric alive with tone on tone botanical forms in golden tan and soft white — airy, natural, and full of the quiet depth that reveals itself slowly. The outer border is a soft beige and white diamond lattice fabric — refined and restrained, the perfect frame for a piece that asks only to be seen with care and stillness.
