Where Joy Finds Form is part of Inherited Blooms — a deeply personal limited edition collection created in quiet collaboration with my late mother, an accomplished textile artist. The floral center of this piece was shaped and appliquéd entirely by her hand. I have completed each composition with layered fabric, beadwork, and crystal accents — her work and mine meeting in a shared space of memory, material, and meaning. Only 19 pieces remain in this collection.

A single warm bloom opens at the center of the composition with a gentle, luminous radiance — its petals constructed from inherited fabric in deep terracotta, burnt coral, and warm peachy gold, the tones shifting across the surface with the kind of natural, sun-warmed gradation that only fabric with history and depth can achieve. At the heart of the bloom, three orange oval glass beads rest together with a warm, organic presence — catching the light with a smooth, honeyed glow that anchors the entire composition in warmth and intimacy. Resting at the edge of the bloom, the beloved glass ladybug makes her third appearance in the Inherited Blooms Collection — a quiet, recurring visitor who has appeared in Where Gentle Joy Rests and A Small Joy, and arrives here once again like a familiar presence, a gentle reminder that joy returns to the same places it has always loved. Two dark forest green fabric leaves are traced with Czech glass beads in bright chartreuse green laid in a precise herringbone pattern — a distinctive and beautifully crafted detail that gives each leaf a dimensional, woven quality unlike anything else in the collection. A slender green fabric leaf is similarly embellished with Czech glass beads in a diagonal line pattern, adding a quiet cohesion of botanical detail throughout the lower composition. At the upper left, a small dark star-shaped fabric bud — part of your mother's original appliqué work — is embellished with teal Czech glass beads and a small arc of iridescent crystals at its tip, catching the light with a delicate, unexpected shimmer. The inner background is the soft beige and white sheer check fabric layered over the outer border fabric — allowing the cream liberty-style botanical sprig border to show through with a layered, ghostly beauty that gives the composition extraordinary depth and dimension. The outer border itself is a beautiful cream liberty-style fabric printed with tiny botanical sprigs in deep red, soft pink, gold, and blue — warm, refined, and deeply personal in the way that only a fabric chosen with care and intention can be.
