Where Gentle Joy Gathers is part of Inherited Blooms — a deeply personal limited edition collection created in quiet collaboration with my late mother, an accomplished textile artist. The floral center of this piece was shaped and appliquéd entirely by her hand. I have completed each composition with layered fabric, beadwork, and crystal accents — her work and mine meeting in a shared space of memory, material, and meaning. Only 19 pieces remain in this collection.

A cluster of three pansy-like blooms rests at the center of the composition in a moment of quiet, unhurried togetherness — each one distinct yet perfectly harmonious, their petals layered in deep violet, soft lavender, and warm amber, coming together in a gentle rhythm that feels both intentional and entirely natural. Each bloom carries its own quiet personality — the upper bloom lifting slightly upward with a light lavender top petal and deep purple lower petals, the left bloom rounder and more contemplative in rich violet with a diamond-quilted fabric that catches the light in its own particular way, the lower right bloom the most dramatic of the three — deep teal and purple at its edges, warm amber and orange at its base, full of depth and quiet complexity. At the center of each bloom, a cluster of Czech glass beads surrounds a sparkling crystal — small, precise, and luminous, like the very center of a memory held gently. Three heart-shaped green fabric leaves are densely filled with Czech glass beads in bright chartreuse and gold — richly textured, warm, and full of a botanical vitality that grounds the soft blooms with life and energy. The inner background is a delicate soft beige and white sheer check fabric layered over the outer border fabric, allowing the warm cream and gold scrollwork with green leaf accents to show through with a ghostly, layered beauty that gives the composition extraordinary depth and dimension.
