Where Fire Gathers is part of Inherited Blooms — a deeply personal limited edition collection created in quiet collaboration with my late mother, an accomplished textile artist. The floral center of this piece was shaped and appliquéd entirely by her hand. I have completed each composition with layered fabric, beadwork, and crystal accents — her work and mine meeting in a shared space of memory, material, and meaning. Only 19 pieces remain in this collection.

Two vivid red star-shaped blooms unfold across the composition with a quiet, confident intensity — their slender pointed petals constructed from inherited deep crimson and red fabric in two distinct patterns, one a rich solid red and one a soft red polka dot, each one reaching outward with the expressive, flame-like energy of flowers that have always known their own brilliance. The blooms are staggered across the composition — one higher and more open, one lower and more contained — creating a natural, swaying rhythm that gives the piece a sense of living movement, as though caught in a gentle wind. At the center of each bloom, an iridescent crystal star embellishment catches and scatters light with a delicate, jewel-like brilliance — intimate and luminous, a tiny point of light held at the heart of each flame. The curving green fabric stem connects the two blooms with graceful, botanical authority, and at the points where stem meets flower, two-tone Czech glass beads are clustered in soft green — adding a dimensional, organic detail that bridges the botanical world of stem and bloom with quiet precision. The inner background is a warm cream and white swirl pattern fabric — soft, organic, and deeply restful, giving the bold red blooms the breathing room they need to fully command the composition. The outer border is a vibrant red batik fabric with a soft dot and flower pattern — warm, energetic, and deeply complementary to the crimson blooms within, wrapping the entire piece in a unified glow of warmth and life.

There is a feeling here of warmth gathering and expanding — of something bright and alive, held within a moment of stillness. Presented in a light white wash floating frame, ready to hang. This piece is part of the Inherited Blooms Collection — a limited edition of only 19 remaining pieces.
